Though it is nationally illegal to smoke marijuana it was made legal in California. Many people are able to acquire licenses to purchase marijuana for any of a number of medical conditions however at times the national government sends in federal agents to shut down places selling marijuana. It is wrong for the federal government to do this as each state was supposed to decide for themselves what fair laws would be. Though I have mixed feelings on nationally legalizing the substance states that have legalized marijuana should be able to avoid persecution from federal agencies.
